Our beloved wife, mother and Nana, Alice Stephens passed peacefully on August 30, 2017 at the young age of 53 in Orange Park, FL after a brief illness. She was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL and lived a joyous life surrounded by family and friends in Green Cove Springs, FL. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Alice knew she was a caring, free spirited and loving person. She loved to make others feel at home no matter where or who you were. She enjoyed her time cooking, taking care and spending time with her family and relaxing days on the water. 

She was predeceased by her parents Deloris I. Labonville and Earl D. Deese and by two sisters, Jane Dunwoody and June “Boogie” Byrd.

She is survived by her husband James E. Stephens, daughter Rebecca Stephens, son James E Stephens II (Jessie Mae), Goddaughter Lynn Brill, brothers and sisters Clarence Deese (Peggy), Tressa Morris (Bill), Tammy Padgett (Ronnie), Carl Deese, Grandchildren Jayden Griffis, David Moore, Riley Mae Stephens and Lauarle Faye Stephens, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kinglsey Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904)264-1233.
