I'm saddened to learn about the passing of SGTMAj Mincey. I did not know him well. He was my Drill Instructor aboard Parris Island, SC. I was in Platoon 1071, 1st BN, B Company. Drill Instructor SGT.. Mincey (as I knew him) was universally respected by our platoon. He was just a great DI. I have been trying to find him to thank him for his investment in me as a recruit and wish I had found him before now. I can still hear him calling cadence as we would march somewhere. I hope his family realizes how many lives he touched by being an incredible human being.

Jimmy Lee was a fellow Marine whom I first met at Marine Barracks, Rota, Spain. He was a very good Marine and a good man. He was one whom I tried to find over the years without success. I will never forget his cheerful demeanor and positive attitude. If I live to be 100, I will NEVER forget the day he and I drove to Arcos de la Fontera in Andalucia, Spain and ended running with the bulls. We survived and came face to face with a bull on a little side street! What a day! Semper Fidelis my friend, we'll link up on the other side again someday.
Williams out!

I'm saddened to learn of the passing of this outstanding Marine. The SgtMaj was my Drill Instructor at Parris Island in 1984.. There is no more humble nor dedicated Drill Instructor than this man. He influenced many young lives during his time at PI, to include mine. Years later, while standing in the darkness on a parade deck at Officer Candidates School, Quantico Virgina, I heard a voice of comfort somewhere out their calling cadence in a low and smooth voice. I knew the SgtMaj was out there and it was uplifting to know that he was around. I caught glimpses of him over the next 10 weeks. I also knew part of the reason I was there at OCS, being given the opportunity to become an Officer, was because of the SgtMaj's work 6 years prior at Parris Island. In 2005 I retired from the Marine Corps on Okinawa. I knew the SgtMaj was stationed on the island and to my surprise he attended my retirement at Futenma MCAS. I thanked him for his work molding a young kid from Maine into a Marine Officer. He simply stated "it was my job". That may be, but his humble and caring talent with training young men was exceptional. SgtMaj, I've never forgotten what you did for me. The world is a little sadder for me today. I lost a mentor, this country lost an outstanding Marine. Sgt Maj...until we meet again.....hand salute. To his family, I'm so sorry for your loss. May to lord hold you all in his loving hands and look over you.

Semper Fidelis,

T Peacock

Sorry for your loss, sickness and death is an enemy of God, he promises to do away with sickness and death one day soon. Revelation 21: 3,4. The God of the Bible is a loving God who can provide comfort to the mourning ones, those lowly in heart and provide encouragement and strength. 2 Corinthians. 1: 3,4.
May comfort and peace be with your family and friends.

My words cannot fully express the sorrow I feel that comes from learning about the passing of Sergeant Major Mincey. I served on I-I Duty with him in Eastover, SC. He was one of the best men and leader of Marines I had the honor to know and to serve under. I recall so well how devoted he was to both his family at home and to the Marines he served with. May you treasure the wonderful times you had and my prayers are with your whole family.

Mincey Family, although we have only known each other for a short time, God has connected our families together for His purpose. Lee was a great man and it didn’t take a life time of knowing him to figure that out, it was instantaneous. He was a family man and it was evident in our conversations together. Please know that when a love one transitions on earth, we gain an angel in heaven that watches over us. God put some people in our life for a season, but some he put there for a lifetime. Lee was provided by God to each of you for a lifetime, the wonderful memories will last forever, and He will forever live in your hearts and everything that you do. On behalf of your God selected extended family “The Jacksons” we extend our sincere condolences to you all. God Bless You All.

Just wanted to let you know that we mourn with you in this difficult hour in your life. It seems like only yesterday that I watched the two of you say your wedding vows. Many precious memories are the result of the years that have unfolded, as well as, a marvelous legacy of love and hope. May your trust and assurance in the Almighty God keep your heart in perfect peace. As the pastor of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, know that we will continue to pray for you and your family. Rest in His perfect Love.

My heart was so full when I received a call early last Sunday morning. To see the smile on your face and hear the laughter in your voice at mom and dad's house in February is a moment I won't forget. If only I'd known that would be the last time I would see you. I have so many memories of you and I will hold them deeply in my heart. Rest on uncle Bo for I know you're with the Lord, grandpa and grandma. We all will truly miss you. To Aunt Flo Bryana Maleiah Jay and Ava hold to God's unchanging hand. The road will get tough but with God's help he will see you all through those days. Share your memories with each other and with others. I love you all!! ALWAYS AND FOREVER
