Michael passed away peacefully from this life the evening of June 4, 2017. He was comforted and supported by his loving brother Vada and his sister-in-law Danielle during his last days of life.

Michael was born in Nyack, New York, a son of Fannie and Barney Davis. He graduated from Nyack High School. Michael’s interest in electronics and machine repair led him to an early career in cable technology. Michael loved all kinds of music and he would often just pick up his guitar and start strumming a tune and sing a song. He was a collector of old coins, antique furniture and developed a long standing hobby of furniture restoration. Although many may not know it, he was a really good dance partner. He was also an avid dirt-bike enthusiast and owned several motorcycles and was known for his love of fast sports cars. While in New York he married Mary Lee and together they had two beautiful children, Kristen and Michael. After the breakup of his marriage, he moved to Jacksonville, Florida and has remained in the area for over 25 years. Applying his skills as a handyman, Michael worked for many people and met good friends who he cherished until the end.

Michael is survived by two children, Kristen and Michael Davis; father, Barney L. Davis; four siblings (and spouses), Debra Brooks-Edmonds, Angela Davis-Byron (Vernon Byron), Barbara Davis-Walker (LeRonald Walker) and Vada Davis (Danielle Davis); four nieces, Siana and Alaina Walker, Darden and Taylor Byron; four nephews, Ronald Darrow Brooks, Vernon Byron III, Vada “Reese” and Kendall Davis and one great-nephew, Deron Brooks.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 2:00 following the visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m., both at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073 (904) 264-1233.
