Allene Evelyn Bradford was born on November 27, 1947 to the late Evelyn Fuller and Narvell Copeland. After 70 beautiful years well lived, Allene passed away peacefully at Haven Hospice in Orange Park Florida on Memorial Day 2018. Allene was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL and was educated in Duval County Schools. She was a hard worker and served in several capacities including most recently as a Caregiver.
Allene was preceded in death by her parents, brother Elvis Thomas, sister Regina Gordon and grandparents Albert and Crosena Thomas.
Allene was a very fun and outgoing person, she enjoyed playing softball, fishing and had an unmatched love for sports in general. She maintained her trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. She loved her family and made it her priority to keep everyone together. Allene touched the lives of numerous people with her smile, warmth and generosity. She was known for opening her heart and home to others in their most desperate times of need.
She was a beloved mother to three beautiful children, Florence Moore, Thomas Griffin and Latassia Griffin whom she shared with their father Harold Griffin. Allene will forever be remembered by her brothers Alvin Thomas, Alfred Thomas, Allison (Dexter) Copeland, Narvell Copeland Jr, and Ellis (George) Copeland. She will be deeply missed by her sisters Josephine Watson, Frankie Stafford, Diane Foreman, and Debra Hickson. She leaves behind treasured grandchildren Jammie Downer-Seals, Jeanetta Moore, Johnnie Moore, Meyonica Griffin, Lavish Griffin, Mateeyah Griffin, and Tobiah Griffin; great grandchildren Malai Orange, LaMarcus George, Malik George and Juan Shanks. She will be forever loved and missed by her life partner Fred (Peaches) Ansley, her dearest friend Eula, her dogs Lillie, Taco and Nemo along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
