Archie E. Webb, Jr. passed away on June 28, 2019 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born on September 2, 1923 to the late Archie E. Webb, Sr. and Thelma Ramsey.
Archie achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. He served over 20 years in the United States Navy as a Captain’s Writer and served in WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam. After retiring from the Navy, he taught school and then he and his wife became Evangelists, traveling from the east coast to the west coast spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They loved Jesus and touched many lives through the years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; wife, Dolores “Emma” Webb; son, John Escobedo; brothers, Robert and Ronald Webb; and sister, Betty Underwood.
Archie is survived by his daughter, Linda (Michael) Gammons; grandchildren, Ashley, Matthew, William (Kassi), Phillip (Laura), and Michael, Jr. (Kathy) Gammons, Michelle McCuen (James), Justin and Stephanie Escobedo; 17 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Darrell Webb; sister, Hazel; many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
The family wants to thank Fort Caroline Assisted Living Facility, where Archie lived the last 8 years, for the care and compassion they showed their loved one. Archie made many friends and loved each of his care givers. Also, special thanks to the Dr. Gaston J. Acosta-Rua Center (Community Hospice).
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. following a visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., both at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233. Interment with military honors will follow the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
