Carrie Fillinger, 90, passed away September 11, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born March 17, 1928 in Logan, West Virginia, but called Orange Park, Florida home for many years.
Ms. Fillinger was preceded in death by her grandparents, Will and Mary Jane Marcum; parents, Miles and Viola (McCloud) Marcum; husband, Alva Shade Fillinger; daughter, Joyce Workman; brothers, Golden, Willard and Miles, Jr; as well as sisters, Sally, Bessie and Flora.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Elmer Fillinger; sons, Johnny Fillinger and Elden (Etta Mae) Fillinger; daughters, Cleo (Roger) Fierst and Barbara (Wendell) Bryant; son-in-law, Tandy Workman; grandsons, James Kotula, Les Workman, Tandy Alan (Louise) Workman, Jason (Carla) Fillinger, Kevin (Lisa) Bryant, and Clifford Spry; granddaughters, Carrie Anne (Chris) Solomon, Romona (Mike) Savage and Monica (Jeremy) O’Connor; many great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and one great-great- grandson as well as many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday , September 14, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL. Interment will follow at a later date in West Virginia.
