David Mark Dalton, 57, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, August 4, 2018. David was on his way home from a night of fishing when he was in a tragic car accident. He was born in Birmingham, AL on August 5, 1960 to Betty Jean Steele and the late Bobby Douglas Dalton.
David graduated from Jones Valley High school in Birmingham, AL, where he played on the football team for 4 years and was the 2nd baseman for the school baseball team. David won the “Simpson Pepper Award” for football. He went on to attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After college David had a career in sales. He excelled at his job achieving “Top Gun” status for many years running and he was on target again this year.
David enjoyed spending his time fishing, camping with family and friends, hunting, kayaking, golfing, biking, watching old westerns and Alabama football, and he especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He worked for Wolbach Brothers, Taylor Distributors and Wilsonart. David was also a member of First Baptist Church of Orange Park.
David was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Charles N. and Hazel Jane Steele, and John W. and Zula Mae Dalton.
David is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Leigh Ann; children, Christy Leigh Kirk (David) and Robert James Dalton; grandchildren, Kyleigh and Kalysta; brothers, Alan Douglas and Steven Wayne, and a host of other family and friends.
David would want all to know that he truly loved his family and friends.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Orange Park, 1140 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service to follow at Jacksonville Memory Gardens. Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, (904) 264-1233 is serving the family.
