Edwin Cunningham

Edwin Cunningham, 62, passed away on December 4, 2018 at Jacksonville Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. He was born on November 1, 1956 in Thomaston, Georgia to Calvin Cunningham, Sr. and Lillie Mae Cunningham.

Mr. Cunningham received an Associate of Science Degree. He previously held a Securities Series 7 and a Florida 2-15 Life Insurance Licenses.  Edwin served 31 years in the U.S. Navy retiring as a Commander. He also worked for Fidelity Investments and KBRwyle. Edwin was a member of Logtown Bethel Church Thomaston, GA, Bethel Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL and The Potter’s House International Ministries, Jacksonville, FL where he was a Deacon and worked with the Audio-Video Ministry.

Edwin enjoyed collecting guns, fitness, motorcycles, muscle cars, and especially spending quality time with his family.

Edwin was preceded in death by his father-in-law, John L. Shumpert, Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Cindy L. Cunningham; children, Edwin L. Cunningham, Brian K. Cunningham, and Lateeka S. (Toby) Turner; granddaughters, Lillian Turner and Laiya Turner; parents, Calvin Cunningham, Sr. and Lillie Mae Cunningham; mother-in-law, Grace Shumpert; brothers, Calvin (Lucy) Cunningham, Jr., Terry (Garbrielle) Cunningham, Kenneth (Angela) Cunningham and Clinton (Willie) Green; brother-in-law, John L. Shumpert, Jr.; sister-in-law, Exie Washington; aunts, Clyde Petty and Martha (Charlie) Trice; uncles, Fletcher Reviere and Calvin Reviere; nephews, Marcus (Cristina) Cunningham, Carlos Cunningham, Dominque Cunningham, Andre Cunningham, Marcus Whitaker, Andre Whitaker, Brandon Shumpert, Johnathan Bolton and Christian Richie; nieces, Candice Chatman, Pamela Willis, Terri Lynn Cunningham, Latasha Cunningham and Shekinah Whitaker; great-nephews, Jalen Benjamin, Tyler Bryant, Jordan Rentrope, Dylan Whitaker, Amare Whitaker, Brandon Shumpert, Jr. and Josiah Rentrope; great-nieces, Brittney Cunningham, Sanaa Whitaker and Janiya Bolton, as well as many other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida, 32073, (904) 264-1233. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at The Potter's House International Ministries, 5119 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32205.
