Gerardo V. Achas

Mr. Gerardo Valdehueza Achas, 93, born on July 1, 1924, was called home by our Heavenly Father on Saturday evening, June 2, 2018. He is the son of the late Esteban Achas and Paciencia Valdehueza.

Gerardo was a devoted family man and had a successful career as a businessman in the Philippines. He has made Jacksonville, FL his home since 1986.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Nerissa and daughter, Sheila Grace.

Gerardo is survived by his sister, Noema Pesons; children, Nanette Grace Orpiano (Melchor “Choy”), Gerardo Achas, Jr., and Socorro Theresa Marcos (Rod); grandchildren, Cristina, Amiel, Andrew, Gerard (Ryan Marie), Raymond, Sean, Stephen, and Sheila; great-grandchildren, Ayble and Noah; and former daughter in law, Sandy.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073 (904) 264-1233. A Catholic Mass will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Fleming Island, 7190 US HWY 17, Fleming Island, FL 32003.
