Irene Little Obituary

Irene M. Little, 94, (known as Renee to those close) passed away on May 21, 2018.

Born in Evansville, IL on February 8, 1924. Renee was the fourth of five children born to Otto Buente and Mary Frielinghausen Buente.

Born and raised on the family farm in Vanderburg County, she never forgot her affection and appreciation for animals and the land.

Mom loved her “little people with fur” and always had an open door for another little hungry mouth. Even when the house was bursting at the seams with fur babies, she would always say “What’s one more?” She passed this trait on to her daughter.

After leaving the farm, Rene worked many different jobs, until one day she met a handsome railroad man and became a wife, mother, and homemaker.

Irene is predeceased by her husband, Eugene Russell Little; her parents as well as all four siblings. Irene is survived by her daughter, Karen Little, a niece and nephews.

A private service will be held at a later date.
