James Henry Gentry

James Henry Gentry, originally from Baltimore, Maryland, died on November 24, 2018, at the age of 77, but his stubbornness will never be forgotten. Jim was a man that truly relished being there for you whenever a need arose but was terrible at reaching out and asking for a hand when in need. Jim’s illness was his pain and would be his secret until the final months of his life… We truly lost a very good man.

He served twenty years in the United States Navy submarine force, another twenty years building submarines at General Dynamic, Corp. and 77 years a loving father and friend. You were a good man dad and I pray the very best of me is you. I love you…Goodbye.

James is preceded in death by two wives that he comforted before their passing. Josephine Gentry and Corrine Garvey-Gentry both passed of cancer.

James is survived by his children, Darlene Guinn, Jack Gentry, and Martha K. Platter; grandchildren, Jason Guinn, Ashley Guinn, and Dustin Platter; sister, Helen Hicks; niece, Beverly Dobrochowski as well as many other family members and friends.
