James "Jim" L. Battle

James “Jim” L. Battle, 73, passed away on August 17, 2018 in Orange Park, FL. He was born on July 9, 1945 in Jacksonville, FL to the late James Bernard and Regina Battle.

Jim was a graduate of the Robert E. Lee High School, Class of 1963. He was a dedicated employee of CSX Transportation for 30 years. James was a member of First Baptist Church of Orange Park.

Jim was a devoted husband, father and papaw. He was also an avid Florida Gator fan and Jacksonville Jaguar football fan.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James Bernard and Regina Battle and his daughter, Lynn Battle Creighton.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Battle; children, Loree Yarbrough (Jonathan); grandchildren, Kendall and Logan Yarbrough and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 11:00 am and funeral at 12 noon, both at First Baptist Church of Orange Park, 1140 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073.
