Jennifer Harris Obituary

Jennifer Sabrina Leslie Harris passed away on June 25, 2018 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born on August 22, 1977 in Bronx, NY, to Jimmy Harrison and the late Valerie Desvignes.

Jennifer was a member of The Potter’s House. She enjoyed singing, dancing, rapping, writing poetry, cooking and drawing and most of all her family.

Jennifer was a free-spirited person who was full of life. She loved her family, there was nothing you could tell her about her family. When she was young, she made her aunts laugh, with the help of her father, with her foolish mouth. It was something to see. As she got older, in her early teens, she met a man that would forever change her life. That was Maurice, Maurice saw beauty, strength and over all, she was a princess. They had three children together. As she blossomed into a gorgeous woman, she went on to meet her goals and with the help of her cousin, Terry Johnson, she came up with a song that made her so happy. The song is called “We Stylin in Burberry”. That song had Jennifer’s heart.

Some of Jennifer’s greatest pleasures were singing gospel songs and putting on shows in the comfort of her own home with her children. Doing this gave her so much joy. Jennifer also competed in Star Search, where she finished as the runner up. Jennifer loved to travel, she was always going on spontaneous trips with her sisters; Freda and Tiffany and friends. They visited Atlanta, Philly, Atlantic City, New York, Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina. Jennifer lived her life to its fullest, she was never a person to sit down somewhere.

As she moved up in age she became more settled. She then met a man named Willie and they had three children together. Willie and Jennifer were inseparable, where you would see one, you would always find the other. Again, she dedicated herself to her family, her life revolved around her kids. Jennifer was the type of person to make you smile even when you didn’t feel like it. She loved her heavenly father. She would lift your spirits up with encouraging words, mainly from scriptures out of the bible. She tried her best to pour His words into your spirit. Jennifer was called to his glory at a young age, which was part of God’s plan, it cannot be questioned.

She was preceded in death by her mother; niece, Princia Ann Harris; and grandparents Emile and Beatrice Thomas Desvignes.

Jennifer is survived by her children, Maurlicia Harris, Tiana McBride, Mya Martin, Lawrence McBride, Alianna Desvignes and Maurice Martin; grandchildren, Genesis Harris and Salvatoria Hall, Jr.; brothers, Jimmy Mack Johnson Harris, Mack Johnson Harris, and Lashawn Morgan; sisters, Elfreda White and Tiffany Harris; nephews, Jeremy Desvignes, Isaiah Adkins, Sean White, Jr., LaShawn Jr. and Landon Morgan, Jakyhia Harris, Emmanuel Harris and Mack Harris, Jr.; nieces, Bianca Clark, Amanda White, Kizzy Washington, Elizabeth Handley, Kerrianna Jones and Cadence Ann Marie Morgan; cousins, Karen Sonniek, Serena Johnson, August Ceaser, Jr., and Maureen Wells; friends, Christina Dorrell and Tonetta Ethridge and a host of other family and friends.
