John Mack Britt, Sr.

August 11, 1946 ~ September 28, 2017 (age 71) 71 Years Old

John "Johnny" Mack Britt, Sr. was born on August 11, 1946 in Enterprise, AL, and departed this life on September 28, 2017 in Orange Park, FL. His parents, Elder Lewie and Varnie Britt, preceded him in death, as did his son, Rodney L Britt.

 

As a child, Johnny attended Coffee County Public Schools in Enterprise, AL. As a young man, he joined the United States Army. While in the Army, he received The National Defense Service Medal, M-14 Rifle Award and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He also served in the Honor Guard at Ft. Rucker, AL. After leaving the United States Army with an honorable discharge, he continued his college education in computer science and worked for the United States government (Air Force and Navy) as a Computer Analyst until his retirement in 1994.

 

His beautiful memory will forever be cherished by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Dorthie Britt. He also is survived by his three daughters; Miriam (Greg) Bigham of Pansey, AL, Alkitrena (Brian) Council of Enterprise, AL and Angela (Andre) Bradley of Orange Park, FL; three sons, Johnny (Tremel) Jr. of Grovetown, GA and Randy and Todaryl Britt of Jacksonville, FL; five brothers, Dallas, Harold, Early and Ronny (Edith) of Cocoa, FL and Ricky Britt of South Carolina; three sisters, Flora Bacon, Linda (Jesse) Bradford of Cocoa, FL and Deborah (Tom) Lewis of Sharpes, FL; two sisters-in-law, Vivian Lewis of Titusville, FL and Betty (Billy) Desue of Mims, FL; two brothers-in-law, Sam Lewis of Titusville, FL and Leonard Lewis of Orlando, FL.; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
