Larry A Lester

Larry Adna Lester was born in Alexandria, VA on August 5, 1951, to James Edwin and Bernice Lester. He departed this life in Jacksonville, Florida on February 22, 2018 and went home to be with the Lord.

At an early age Larry accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria.

Larry married the love of his life, Branilla Elliott Lester and they had four children.

After relocating to Jacksonville, Larry worked for CSX Transportation as a crew dispatcher until his retirement. Larry enjoyed the beach, fishing, movies and watching Jeopardy and First Take on ESPN. He also had a passion for spending time with his children and grandchildren and eating seafood.

Larry was predeceased by his wife, Branilla Elliott Lester; sister, Kimoura I. McAllister and grandparents, John Henry and Juanita Stanton.

He is survived by his parents; children, Jerry Duane Smith, Travis Dontae Lester, Makisha Iyawna Lester and Isha Laquanda Lester; grandchildren, Brandon Andrew and Layla Marie Taylor, Jaxon Khalil Edgerton, Kaalyn Janiyah and Kaliyah Janiece Brinkley; one brother, James E. Lester II; two sisters, Serepta Jones and Emberzetta Elliott; nephews, Erren Lester, James Lester III, Reggie Jones and Darrell W. Towles; nieces, Latoya Daniels, Vongretchen Towles, Myiketta and Mikora Barlow, Arnina Elliott, Tierra and Ranisha Jones; special friend, Darlene Melton and a host of other relatives and friends.
