Sandra Hanson Obituary

In Loving Memory of

Sandra Lee Hanson

July 23, 1955 - November 13, 2019

Remember me with love and joy,

Let gratitude fill your heart.

Thankful for the time we had,

Gone…yet not apart.

If we measured life in moments,

Not in months or years,

I lived a hundred lifetimes,

Loved by all who hold me dear.

Sandra Lee Hanson (Norbert), 64, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 after having made it just one more day at 12:02am. Sandy was born on July 23, 1955 in Jeanette, Pennsylvania to the late Donald Stanley and Lois Norbert. She was the third of eight children.

Sandy’s spirit of adventure and love of sunshine brought her to Southern California shortly after she graduated high school. She settled in got married and had three children. Sandy worked tirelessly to support her family and impart a spirit of adventure into them. It worked, she raised two Marines, a Sailor and an Airman granddaughter. Sandy was immensely proud of all of her children and grandchildren and spoke lovingly of them often.

Sandy moved back to the East Coast to be closer to family in 2006. It was here she found a true church home at Crossroads Lutheran Church. She loved working in the church garden, her bible study group, playing in the ocean waves and any opportunity to help another.

She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Donald (Butch), Joseph; dearly loved brother-in-law Thom and greatly adored aunt Betty.

Sandy is survived by her siblings, Irene, Nicholas, Richard, Nancy, John; children, Alfredo, Dolores and Susanna; and grandchildren, Joseph, whom she raised as a son, Rolly, Ariel, Anastasia, Aurora, Anthony, Ann Marie, Elijah and Elizabeth.

Sandy’s children would like to say we are eternally grateful to her sister Irene who stayed by her side throughout her hospital stays keeping the staff on task, her beloved little sister Nancy who took care of her from afar, the 4th & 5th floor Dr’s and nurses at Baptist South,  the staff at Haven Hospice and her best forever friends; Martha, Kay and Flo.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
