Stacy Lee Slott, 50, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away, Thursday, July 12 , 2018 at his home. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 5 at Church of Our Saviour Episcopal Church, 12236 Mandarin Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32223.
Stacy is survived by his parents, Grace and Sherwood Slott, daughter Taylor (Albert) Mercado, son Archer Slott, brother James (Mandy) Slott, brother Christopher (Erin) Slott, nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his wife Sonya Ann Slott in 1994.
Stacy was born April 3, 1968, in Jacksonville, FL to James and Grace (Stephenson) Slott. As a young teenager, he participated in a student exchange program with a Japanese student living with a Japanese family for a time. He graduated from the Phelps School in Malvern, Pa. in 1987. During his time at Phelps, he was on the lacrosse and wrestling teams. Stacy was a fantastic Chef and took only the best and brightest under his wings to learn and grow. His culinary career is long and well rounded, starting with working here in Jacksonville to becoming a Sous Chef in the Russian Tea Room in New York City. When he became an Executive Chef he started traveling up and down the East coast helping open new fine dining restaurants in places like Philadelphia, PA, Saint Augustine, FL, Stuart, FL, and in Costa Rica.
In the tradition of his beloved grandfather, Stacy was an avid “Gator” fan. Stacy was a good man, fun, the life of the party. You knew if you went to his house there would be good food, good drinks and good times to be had.
