On Friday, January 15, 2021, Albert Jack Chalmers, Jr. passed away at the age of 65. Jack was a loving husband, proud father and grandfather, and loyal friend to many.
Jack was born April 7, 1955 in Great Lakes, IL, to Jack and Arlene Chalmers. He was an incredible salesman and business owner of almost 20 years. On November 22, 1975, he married his high school sweetheart, Vernice Marie Good. They recently celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary in 2020. They raised two sons, Jack III and Jason.
Jack rarely sat still and always enjoyed fishing and golfing and lately he had taken up woodworking. He loved his Florida Gators and never missed a game. He was known as “Pops” to his four grandkids and was always showing them his fun and goofy side. He was very proud of his family. He was always the first one to help someone in need and had a real giving spirit.
Jack was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jack and Arlene.
He is survived by his wife Vernice; his sons, Jack III (Jill) and Jason (Nicole); his grandchildren, Ella, Brynlee, Betty and AJ; his brother, Dan (Michele); his sisters, Carolann and Patty and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fleming Island, FL at 10:00AM. A celebration of his life will be held afterwards at his home, 1799 CR 209B, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043.
