Alice Johnson Williams, the last of six siblings, was born on October 22, 1923, in Green Cove Springs, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Willie and Alice Johnson.
At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church. She was a faithful and dedicated member. She served in many capacities: A member of the Missionary Society, Choir, Stewardess board and Sunday School teacher. She worked along side her sister Theda on the Youth Department for many years.
Alice attended public school in the Clay County System. She graduated from Dunbar High School in 1942, was a member of the girls’ basketball Team. She worked at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind in St Augustine, FL. It was where she met and married the love of her life, the late Isiah Williams. Due to his military career, it afforded them the opportunity to travel abroad, visiting countries such as England, Germany and Mexico. Upon her husband Ike's retirement, they returned to Green Cove Springs making it their home.
Left to cherish her memories and mourn this great loss: Nephews: Vandy (Leatha) Johnson; Roland Johnson, Rudett Johnson Jr.; Nieces, Theda (Robert) Johnson, Patricia Wright, Debrah Lewis, Lucille Deveaux, Rosemerry Wright; Adopted sister Reverend Betty Pittman; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
