Alicia "Lisa" Ramos was born in Pascagoula, MS to Vanderbilt and Hattie Mae Duck on June 15, 1959, though she spent most of her life in Jacksonville, FL. She graduated from Pascagoula Highschool. During her teen years she enjoyed playing Summer League Softball.
She met the love of her life, William Ramos, at "The Navy Lakeside Manor" bar while he was stationed there in 1979. The connection was immediate, and two years later they were married on March 6, 1981. From their love, she gave birth to three children, each two years apart. Motherhood brought out the best in her and it was her greatest joy in life.
In 1999, she accomplished her lifelong goals of buying a home and living her version of the American Dream. Lisa was a dedicated homemaker who took pride in taking care of her family and home. She had a passion for plants and kept an extensive garden around her home. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and had a festive spirit. During the holidays her home was known for amazing decorations, delicious food, and good laughs. Hobbies include reading romance and fantasy novels, crocheting blankets, sewing, listening to music on her turn table and dancing to music. Lisa gave back to her community and felt a moral obligation to help those in need, especially the neighborhood kids.
In 2014, after being diagnosed with lung cancer, she showed incredible resilience and made a stunning recovery after surgery with the help of her devoted family.
However, in late 2022 her health took a turn for the worse but she fought the best she could everyday. On July 9, 2023, the Lord took her home.
Rest in peace, Mom. You were the rock of the Ramos family, and you are forever loved, and will never be forgotten.
