On Sunday, May 7, 2023, Angelica Juanita Brown, a loving Mother, went to be with her Lord at the age of 31. Angelica was born August 1, 1991, in Belize to Alicia Teresita Jones and Juan Angel Acevedo.
Florida has been Angelica’s home since the age of 11. Upon moving to Florida, she first lived in Starke before moving to Jacksonville in 2013. Angelica graduated from Gainesville High School in 2010. Angelica went on to attend Florida Career College, receiving her associate’s degree, followed by certifications as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) and a Medical Assistant (MA). Angelica then decided that her passion was in the food industry. She was employed at Zaxby’s as a manager, having worked her way up from a crew member position.
On December 3, 2019, Angelica became a mother to Ariyah Alicia Brown. Angelica loved to cook and feed people. Most importantly, she loved being a mommy. She was a hard worker and she wanted so much to be successful in this life. She loved her church family at The Springs Church in Orange Park.
Angelica was preceded in death by her grandfather, Angel Espat; grandfather, Marcileno Acevedo, and uncle, Odelio Ortiz.
She is survived by daughter, Ariyah Brown; mother, Alicia Jones, father, Juan Acevedo; stepdads, Dennis Jones and Francis Sewell; sisters; Evelyn (Alvan) Gillett and Esther Acevedo; stepsisters, Sherriann Woodson, Monica Jones and LaLisa Jones; stepbrothers; Dennis Jones Jr., Tijari Jones and Deon Jones; grandparents, Matilda Lanza and Elba Acevedo; aunts, Amine (Gerald) Sellers, Tracy (Ryan) Yonger, Naomi (Emilio) Alcoser, Dinora Bonilla and Nimfa Acevedo; uncle, David Cadle; and many cousins.
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at The Springs Church, 900 Park Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, with a viewing at 2:30 p.m. and a funeral service at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to funeral services for Angelica Brown.
