Anthony “Tony" W. Chestnut

Tony Chestnut, 62, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023. Tony was born on September 5, 1960, in Conway, SC, a son of the late Oscar Wayne Chestnut and the late Irene Garrison.

Tony was a patriot that loved his country. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the 82nd Airborne Division. He loved the outdoors, especially boating and fishing with his friends Eric and John. While pursuing his career as a truck driver, he looked forward to competing in the Florida Truck Driving Competitions with the support of his friends Robert, Sal, and the late Roger Nicholson. He was also an animal lover and was devoted to his many dogs throughout the years. Tony was known as a handyman that could fix anything. He was a wonderful, loving father and his children were his life. Tony will be remembered as a man of character and integrity with a kind and selfless soul.

Survivors include one daughter, Gabrielle Chestnut of Jacksonville, FL; one son, Anthony Chestnut (Savoeun) of St. Augustine, FL; two grandchildren, Kailee and Liam Chestnut both of St. Augustine, FL.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. both at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073. A procession of family and friends will follow to Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery, 111 Blanding Boulevard, Orange Park, FL 32073, to conclude with the honor guard tribute and interment service.
