Charles High Obituary

Charles D. High “Di” son of Charles and Dorothy was born July 2, 1987 in Lawrenceburg, KY. The life of Di was a precious gift from God. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Di during his 31 years. He had a rich, but strict childhood. His parents knew they had The Perfect Child sent by God. God made special arrangements for his angel to be lifted up and carried home September 3, 2018 from University of Kentucky Hospital.

Di could show his love without ever saying a word. Not everyone has this ability. He could express his love with a look, with a smile, with a squeeze. He also taught us how to be happy because he took joy in simple things, joy in seeing his family, joy in watching TV shows, his favourite NFL team, joy in taking family vacations, joy in eating good food. Di was a strong person. He taught us what it is to be strong, because strength is not found in being the biggest the toughest or the fastest. Strength is found in one who keeps on going, keeps on trying, day after day, long after others give up. Strength is found in one who knows success isn’t always big and flashy, but knows that sometimes the greatest success is found in the tiniest of victories. In this way, he was our HERO. He kept going through the best times and the hardest times. His life was about
Love, Kindness and Patience.

Di gave us the gift of unconditional love. He is our rainbow. He shone brightly for 31 years and then left us. Yet we can be assured that like the rainbow, he was a blessing from above. We can celebrate the life he led and the lessons he gave us. For the best gift he gave us was his very life. He was a very special gift. For all the ways he taught us about life and love, for all the ways he inspired us to be better, and for all the love he gave while he was with us. May we never forget this beautiful gift. May we give strength and support to our family as they find their way in this world without him and may we honor his memory every time we look up to the sky. Look past the clouds and see the rainbow.

Di leaves to cherish his precious memories, devoted and loving parents, Charles and Dorothy High of Lawrenceburg, KY; sister, Tanganyika Nesselrode (Todd) of Jacksonville, FL; cousins, Tyrone High of New York and Reggie High of Lawrenceburg, KY; nephews, Daegan and Daelan Nesselrode or Jacksonville, FL; aunts, Alma Jean High of
Lawrenceburg, KY, Willie Mae Black of Middleburg, FL, Iris Austin of Orange Park, FL, and Cynthia Austin of Green Cove Springs, FL; uncles, Chester Austin (Debra) of Green Cove Springs, FL, and Jerome Austin of Jacksonville, FL and many sorrowing cousins and friends.
