Charlie Pugh, 89, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2022 in Orange Park, FL. Charlie was born on June 20, 1933 in Grand Junction, TN. Charlie joined the United States Army at a very young age and proudly and honorably served his country for 23 years. He retired from the United States Army and later worked and retired from Civil Service for NAS Jacksonville. Charlie was a loving and caring husband and father and a friend to everyone he met. He loved his Gators and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
While we are saddened by the loss of his presence in this life, we are joyful that Charlie has been reunited with his best friend and beloved wife of 57 years, the late Carrie K. Pugh.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Cheryl Pugh, Karen Oliver, and Charlene Pugh, and a host of family and friends.
At the request of the family and to honor Charlie’s wishes, the interment will be private at Jacksonville National Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends wishing to say goodbye will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233, who is serving the family.
