Cora Lee Clayton, 88, passed away on January 1, 2026 in Orange Park, FL. She was born on November 27, 1937 in Madison, FL, to the late John Scott and Annie Sampson Scott.
Cora worked for the Clay County School Board and enjoyed reading the bible and talking about God. She was a member of Love Fellowship Reach Ministry in Middleburg, FL.
Family members preceding Cora in death are her parents; sister, Ruth Sanders; brothers, John Scott, Nathaniel Scott and Charlie Scott and grandparents, Theodore and Elizabeth Sampson.
Cora is survived by her loving husband, Herbert Clayton, Jr.; children, Curley Ford, III and Sheneatha Scott; godchildren, Shauna Burks and Donnie Harrell; grandchildren, Jamillah Ford, Rasheda Ford, Curtis Ford, Kurtis Ford, Justine Ford, Vanessa Woodard, Michael Scott, Rashane Scott and Makalia Scott; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Clarence Scott and Jerry Scott; sisters, Bertha Scott and Sophia Pollard; nephews, Frank Moore, Tony Moore, Jimmy Moore and Jock Moore; cousins, Ula Donaldson and Dot Sampson and a host of other family members and friends.
The family extends a special thank you to all employees of Haven Hospice in Orange Park for the compassionate and great care shown to their loved one.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 a.m. both at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073, (904) 264-1233.
