Cynthia Faye Brown Coleman passed away on November 16, 2025 in Orange Park, FL. She was born on November 14, 1961 in Americus, GA. to the late Lee James Brown and Jenny Lee Brown.
Cynthia was a God-fearing woman who placed the Lord at the center of every moment in her life. Through every blessing and every trial. She was a devoted mother, a steady light, and truly a walking testimony of God’s power. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was baptized in 1977.
At birth, doctors said she would never walk because her feet were turned backwards. They said she would not be able to remember because her brain lacked the lining it needed, and even though she suffered from seizures, nothing in this world could change what the Lord had planned for her life. But despite every doubt spoken over her, He, the Lord, had the final word. She walked. She remembered. She excelled. In fact, she became valedictorian and graduated within the highest-grade average.
Cynthia loved gospel music and lived out the compassion it teaches. She cared for countless people, always willing to give her very last to help someone in need, whether she knew them or not. Her heart was generous, open, and kind.
Cynthia enjoyed watching the news, staying aware, and keeping others informed and safe. She also loved sports and never lost her sense of humor. Her laughter, charisma, presence and loving spirit will be deeply missed.
Cynthia always tried to lift others up, to place a smile on someone’s face and to offer guidance rooted in God’s word. Her legacy is one of faith, strength, love and unwavering kindness.
During her final days, she was thinking that if she were to overcome lung cancer, it would be another testimony, but God said, “You have walked and shown My power and now you must come home because I need you in heaven.”
Cynthia earned her RN degree and worked 10 years for Pines Personal Care Home and for 27 years as a private caregiver, then retired after 37 years in the healthcare profession. Her passion was to take care of the elderly and anyone who was in need.
Family members preceding Cynthia in death are her parents; Shirley Hill, Cheryl Brown, Charles Brown and several brothers.
Cynthia is survived by her loving children, Antonio Coleman, Brittney Coleman Davis, son-in-law, Gerald Davis, Latysha Peterson, Daphene Peterson and Tina Hawks; grandchildren, Ty’Teinautica Coleman, Tramonika Carter, Ky’Rhyionna Coleman, Jeralahreese Davis and Je’Vontae Davis; sister, Annette Calloway; a host of nieces and nephews; friends, Mary King, Kasandra, Comelia Carr and Trisha Randall.
