Daniel Edward Yokubaitis Pauls passed away on August 9, 2020 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born on April 28, 1945 in East Chicago, IN, to the late Joseph Yokubaitis and Mary Hero.
He was raised in St. John, IN, and was a Vietnam Veteran. Daniel had a passion for cooking, especially barbecuing, and later became a chef. He was a Broncos and Bears fan, loved his dogs – Hansel and Gretel, and enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, walking on the beach and traveling. His favorite saying was, “Jack of all trades, master of none.” Daniel always knew how to make you laugh and smile when you were down. He deeply adored and loved his wife, Angela. She loved him dearly and is grateful for all the adventures they shared together. Daniel had a heart of gold, a good sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Those preceding Daniel in death are his parents; brother, Michael Yokubaitis; step-father, Joseph Hero; step-daughter, Michelle Holden; step-son-in-law, David Holden, both sets of grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Angela D. Pauls; children, Joseph D. Yokubaitis, Chicago, IL; Angela D. Iakimenko (Ivan) Loveland, CO; and step-son, David Gaudette (Brittany and children) IN; grandchildren, Talia Becker, Ilias Iakimenko, Anaya Malveaux, Akaysia Malveaux; and step-granddaughter, Audrey Holden; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to your favorite Vietnam Veteran’s association or organization, cancer research, or dementia/stroke organizations.
A graveside service with military honors, will be held on October 15, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
