Delores Russell Obituary

Delores Russell affectionately known as Susie was born on October 8, 1949, to the late Paul and Bessie Albert in Philadelphia, PA Susie grew up in North Philadelphia where she graduated from Simon Gratz High School in

1967. In December 1967, she married her high school sweetheart William Earl Russell.

In 1973, Susie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior while attending Boulware Temple. She later joined Christian Youth Rally, which merged into Faith Hope and Love COGIC in 1984. Susie was a faithful member of Faith Hope and Love where she was a part of the women's ministry and served as a Missionary. In 2004 she was appointed as the choir vice president for the COGIC Pennsylvania Keystone Jurisdiction

Susie was a woman after God’s own heart and a true woman of God. She not only studied the word of God. she lived by the word and was a great example of a godly woman. She was a prayer warrior and an intercessor. Her ministry went beyond the church walls as she would teach the gospel of Jesus Christ everywhere she went and would mentor family, friends and members of the community

Susie lived a blessed life with Earl. They were the parents of five children Leatnice, William Jr, Tamika, Anthony end Bernard. While raising her family. Susie worked for the State of Pennsylvania as a Social Services Case Worker.

She retired in 2007. After her retirement, she relocated to Orange Park,  FL in 2013 where she enjoyed beach vacations, shopping. attending West Jacksonville COGIC. attending the annual International Women's Convention and spending time with her grandkids and great grandchildren.

Delores Susie Russell gained her wings and her crown on November 30, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Earl, sister Bernether Medley, brothers Paul Jr. Moses, Rayfield, and Willie Albert, and great granddaughter Alana Hunley.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her children, Leatrice, William Jr (Mana), Tamika (Earl), Anthony (Terra) and Bernard; brothers, Abram and Morris; sisters, Bessie, Adele, Sister-in-laws Gloria, Bettye, Doretha, Jacqueline, Chaundelle and Eveline; 16 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
