Her Life of Legacy

Deloris Thomas Robinson passed away on April 2, 2023 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born on June 5, 1944, in Jacksonville, to the late Grover Amos Thomas and Christine (Davis) Thomas.

Deloris graduated high school then attended Upholstery Craftsman Higher Learning earning a Master Upholster Certificate. She owned and operated Family Upholstery for over 30 years. Delores enjoyed gardening and Monday’s Seniors Bowling Team. She was a member of the Church of Christ.                                                                                                                                                     

Family members preceding Deloris in death are her husband, Bishop Samuel Morris Robinson, III, parents, brother, Robert Lee Thomas, great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Simone Robinson, grandmother, Mami Cole and grandfather, John Cole.

Deloris is survived by her children, Mariland Goodwin (Walter), DeAngelo Morris Robinson (Shanna), Monica Ann Robinson-Curtis, Mario Eugene Robinson (Kathryn) and Joseph L. Wells; grandchildren, LaPrisha A. Brown, Mario D. Robinson (Jalisha), Demisha M. Jefferson (Willis), Devin M. Robinson, Lauren A. Graham-Harris (Donte), Marisha Ashante Murphy (Nigel), Lawrence C. Graham, and  Isac L. Goodwin; great-grandchildren, Asijah, Princeton, Brooklyn, Malcom, Imani, Maxwell, Easton and Parker; great-great-grandchildren, Azai and Saint; brothers, Amon Grover Thomas, Edward E. Thomas and Ray Connell Thomas; sisters, Gloria McCray, Dorthy Westone, Grover Pipala, Annette Wilmore, Virginia E. Young and Patricia Brooks; over fifty nieces and nephews; thirty cousins; friends, Ms. Edwina Harris, Ms. Mary Ford, Ms. Belinda Green and Ms. Emily Lesesne.

The emotions, that we as children, secure in our hearts for a loving mother is indescribably deep. The thought God put into creating such a wonderful caretaker, provider of counsel, a shoulder to cry on, pilar of strength and a soft place to land is unmatched. We’re so humbled by His insight about our needs that we can only say “Thank You” for such a sweet gift.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.  at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL  32073, (904) 264-1233.
