Diane Carol Branaugh

Diane Branaugh,78, was born on November 9, 1943. She was a devoted and loving wife, mom, grandma and mima. She was a proud military spouse and homemaker for most of her adult life but also held a position at a factory in the Silicon Valley making computer chips for NASA. She also worked for JoAnn Fabric store.

Her passion was to spend time with and care for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She loved planning long visits and taking trips with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Diane also loved to garden and tend to her flowers and many plants. While she had many hobbies; sewing and cake decorating were among some of her favorites. She sewed many articles of clothing and creations for her family members over her years; as well as created many beautiful cakes for birthdays and weddings for those she loved.

Diane was very proud of her community at Villages of the Fireside where she and Eugene, her husband of 61 years, resided after relocating from the California Bay Area. While living in the Villages of the Fireside she volunteered her time serving on the Home Owners Association board as vice president. Diane was the true definition of a matriarch. In many ways she was the glue that held the family together and will be missed deeply.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Eugene Branaugh; father, William; mother, Lois; step-mother, Dorothy and brothers, David, Bill and Eugene.

She is survived by her brother, Jim; daughter, Mary; son, Jay (Mary-Anne); grandchildren, Amanda (James), Ryan (Natalie), and Daniel and great-grandchildren Justin and Isabel. 

A graveside service will be held Friday, June 3, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
