Elizabeth Anne White, 42, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, after a brave and courageous battle with triple negative breast cancer and leptomeningeal disease. She was born on September 11, 1978 in Olympia, WA, to Judith Louise and John Millard Libby, Jr.
She graduated with a triple major from the University of Washington in 2002. Elizabeth had a wonderful sense of adventure and her fearlessness led her to love all forms of adventures, such as hang-gliding and sky-diving. She enjoyed spending time outdoors in nature by camping and hiking. She was also very athletic and an avid runner, competing in the Miami Marathon multiple times and the New York Marathon, wherein she raised money for youth and community programs for children. She was a very loving wife, mother and homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family, boating, fishing, hunting, watching the sunset, watching movies, ice skating, reading, listening to music, and dancing. Elizabeth possessed the charisma and confidence to dance as if no one was watching, while at the same time being humble, down to earth and grounded. She devoted her life to her children, always making time to volunteer at their schools and sporting events. She loved traveling with her family to State and National Parks, amusement parks, trying new foods and visiting and exploring new places and celebrating the holidays. She was considered by many to be the nicest and strongest person they had ever met.
There are not enough words in the dictionary to describe Elizabeth’s dynamic and charismatic spirit and personality, some of the special characteristics to describe Elizabeth included: being a hard worker, strong, intellectual, funny, graceful, caring, compassionate, classy, elegant, beautiful, gorgeous, positive, inspirational, thoughtful, selfless, courteous, gracious, tactful, reliable, responsible, dependable, positive, optimistic, genuine, sincere, moral and ethical. Elizabeth was an independent woman that cared deeply about equality, fairness, social and political issues, and the environment. She had an incredible smile and positive energy that could light up a room and had a great sense of humor. Elizabeth was a unique and extraordinary, special person and she absolutely brought joy and delight to all persons that she met. Her positive attributes are endless.
Elizabeth is survived by her devoted husband, Johnny White; loving children, Chance and Ellie; father, John Millard Libby, Jr. (Ann); mother, Judith Gudyka (Mike); six sisters, Kate Sawaya (Mike), Kris Estes, Kari Martin (Kevin), Sarah Cruz (Jose), Laura Mitchell (Jeremy) and Megan Sturgis (Nathan); and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; all of which Elizabeth could amazingly recite each and every one of their birthdays through her uncanny memory. Her beloved pets, Nathan the cat and Wednesday the dog, will miss her too.
Elizabeth will be greatly and forever missed by all that knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests planting a tree in her memory. Of note, Elizabeth loved white flowers, such as gardenias and magnolias. Elizabeth’s approach to life was courageous and admirable, she wished to create awareness for breast cancer and to that end, in an effort to support her wish of education and awareness, please also consider donating to Breastcancer.org. A private family Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
