Francis P. Purcell

Francis “The Family Man” Patrick Purcell, 65, passed away on June 14, 2022 in Palatka, FL. He was born on July 12, 1956 in Dublin, Ireland, to the late Francis and Kathleen Purcell.

Frank’s enduring passion was his family. All other considerations paled in significance when measured against his love for Judy, Robert, Francis and Alan. He and his wife Noreen formed an unconquerable alliance as they lavished their love, guidance and affection on their extended family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They instilled into each one their own brand of decency and compassion towards others.

Nothing pleased Frank more than fishing on the St. Johns River with his young side kick David, motorcycling around Florida or kicking back with his loved ones at his home near Palatka.

A varied career saw Frank long hauling tankers the length and breath of the United States, forming many lasting friendships along the way, as “Head” Mechanic at Doss Aviation, as a Barman in Dublin and dispatcher at the vast Fuel Farm in NAS Jacksonville.

Frank Leaves an abiding legacy of integrity and love, evidenced by all the friends who’s lives he touched during his life.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Sarah Jane Purcell and sister, Jennifer McCluskey.

Frank leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife, Noreen Purcell; children, Judy Bergman, Robert Purcell, Francis Purcell and Alan Purcell; grandchildren, David Purcell, Taylor Bergman, Hannah Bergman, Isabella Purcell, Amelia Purcell and Cullen Purcell; great-grandson, Liam Purcell; brothers, Brian Purcell and Alan Purcell and many other relatives and friends.
