Harold Richard Freeman, Sr. passed away August 5, 2020. He was born in Chicago, IL on June 6, 1945.
Harold retired after 23 years of honorable service in the United States Navy. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He also retired from the State of Florida Juvenile Justice Department, where he made a profound impact with his wisdom and encouragement. He was a father to all and was really respected as such. Harold kept everyone in stiches with his hilarious antics. He was a barbeque pit master and deviled egg king. Harold will be missed, but will live on within his love ones and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Halbert and Dorothy Freeman and four siblings.
Harold is survived by the love of his life and best friend of 51 years wife, Barbara J. Freeman; sons, Harold, Jr. (Honey) and Shannon; daughter, Angelita (Tom); grandkids, Harold Richard Wilcox-Freeman, III and Krishaunda Katanya Wilcox-Freeman; eight great-grandchildren and many family members and special friends he held close to his heart and loved ones in Chicago.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 12noon followed by a funeral service at 12noon, at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073.
At Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home we will continue to follow all CDC and Florida Department of Health social distances guidelines : No more than 50 family members and friends may physically be present in the funeral home at any time.
