Henrietta Lee Young

Henrietta Lee Young, 87, was called to Glory on November 29, 2024 in Jacksonville, FL. She began her journey on July 18, 1937 in Chicago, IL, to the late Bennie Graham, Sr. and Carrie Lee Wilson.

Henrietta gained her education through the Chicago Public School System. Her short school years allowed her to navigate through life as well as care for her younger siblings. After a short period of working in the retail industry, Henrietta became a proud and devoted homemaker. She was united in Holy Matrimony to William C. Young on October 30, 1955 and to this union, ten children were born.

Henrietta always showed an enthusiasm for Christ by reading the Bible and place-marking her favorite verses. She loved to dance, sing, shop, sew, collect buttons, cook, watch soap operas and spend quality time with her family.

Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William C. Young; brothers, Bennie Jr., Joseph, Authur, David, Danny, and Marvin Graham; daughter, Dale R. Vanleer; granddaughter, Kierra A. Veal; great-grandson, Kevin Jackson and great-great grandson, J’asiah Mitchell.

Henrietta is survived by her children, William C. Young, Jr. (Patricia), Douglas L. Young, Louis D. Young, Donald Young (Yvette), Donna M. Jones, Carrie Neely-Neal, Lynice D. Young, Debra J. Young and Barbara A. Bradstreet (Gary); son-in-law, Louis Vanleer; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other family members, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. with a Celebration of Life at 3:00 p.m., both at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073, 904-264-1233.
