Jim’s love of life didn’t come to an end with his death. James “Jim” J. Bloedow Sr., 80, passed away on July 28, 2021. His loving heart left a beacon of light for his family and friends, who will continue to honor his legacy by living lives to the fullest.
Jim served 25 years in the U.S. Navy and while serving, he met the love of his life, Nora Haynes. Together they raised two children, James, Jr. and Dianna. Upon retirement from the Navy, Jim obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in technology from the University of North Florida and began a second career working at the Navel Air Re-Work Facility in Jacksonville until 2006 when he began his retirement.
Jim’s greatest pleasures came from spending time with his children and grandchildren. He had an uncanny ability to find happiness in his daily activities and that joy spread to all around him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Bloedow and parents, Ernest Bloedow and Irene Stibbe.
Jim is survived by his children, James J. (Jami) Bloedow, Jr., and Dianna L. (Greg) Coday; grandchildren, Greg Coday, Tyler Coday, Cassidy Coday and Haley Bloedow and many friends.
Interment will be scheduled for a later date at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
