James F. Garner, Sr.

James F. Garner, Sr., 87, passed away on August 3, 2023, in Orange Park, FL. He was born on September 14, 1935, in Jacksonville, FL to the late J.D. Garner and Lois E. Stanford.

James was a railroad extraordinaire with forty-two years of service with CSX. He enjoyed riding the rails by steam engine or his motor cars. James was devoted to his family, church, and Children's Ministry.

James was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. Garner and Lois E Stanford.

James is survived by his loving wife, Alice; children, Susanne, Jimmy (Cathy) and Teresa (Harry); seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and a host of friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 10:00 a.m., both at First Baptist Church of Orange Park, 1140 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Children's Ministry at First Baptist Church of Orange Park.
