James Albert Hill, Sr.

Our beloved James “Jim” A. Hill, Sr. passed away on March 29, 2018 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born on February 10, 1947 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Joseph and Irma Hill.
Jim was an A.S.E. Master Technician, Automotive Service Manager and business owner. He has worked at General Motors in Cincinnati, OH, and transferred to Fred Davis Buick in 1985. In 1992 Jim opened Hill Automotive in Orange Park, FL.

Jim was a gentle giant who had a wonderful zest for life and enjoyed the camaraderie of his many friends. He enjoyed all sports, but personally loved playing golf, fishing with his boys and friends, hunting, bowling, baseball and in his early years, he loved horses and enjoyed horseback riding.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Irma Hill and brother, Gerald Hill.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia Hill and so many loving family members; children, James (Polly) Hill, Jr., Jefferson (Julie) Hill, Tanya Clifton, and step-sons, James and Jared Johnson; brothers, Joseph (Sandy) Hill and Ronald (Janet) Hill; grandchildren, James III, Ashley, Chiara, James, Jenna, Megan, Mary, Adam, Paige, Autumn, Noah, and Mattie; and 5 nieces, Carrie, Jodi, Stephie, Krissy, Amy and 1 nephew, Matthew. 

A memorial service, to celebrate Jim’s life, will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Argyle Church of Christ, 7310 Collins Road, Jacksonville, FL 32244.
