James E.C. Mowery, 54, of Orange Park, Florida, originally from Grove City, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on October 27, 2021.
James graduated from Grove City High School in 1986, where he played football and ran track and field. After high school, he enlisted in the Army National Guard serving from August 1986 to April 1990. He attended Columbus State University from 1986 to 1988.
James was a loving husband, father, brother and son. He was an avid fan of The Who and attended over 30 concerts. He was able to meet John Entwistle, Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey.
James was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Mowery.
He is survived by his mother, Marianne Mowery; his sisters, Jacqueline Mowery Fitzgerald and Melissa Mowery Robles (Timothy Douglas); his wife, Sally Mowery; his daughters, Constance Penney, Syndi Penney (Zak Smith) and Kayti Mowery; his sons, Jameson Mowery and Jefferson Mowery; mother-in-law, Merry Moore (Thomas Moore) and father-in-law, James Moore (Gregg Voci), many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Monday, November 1, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 5:00 p.m. both at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073.
A celebration of life service will be held in Grove City, Ohio in the Spring of 2022, details to follow.
