If you're reading this, Jim would probably tell you to quit making such a fuss.

James "Jim" Davis Jr., 71, of Orange Park passed away early on the morning of July 4, 2026 surrounded by the people he loved at home after a battle with metastatic cancer and complications from a stroke with the same quiet determination that defined his life.

Jim honorably retired from the United States Navy after thirty years of service to his country. His military career was one of the accomplishments he was most proud of, and it remained an important part of who he was throughout his life.

Jim's greatest accomplishment wasn't something you could hang on a wall. It was the life he built with his wife of 48 years, Chu, and the family they created together. He worked hard, made sacrifices, and spent his life doing what he believed a husband and father should do: taking care of the people he loved. He never expected recognition. His family was enough.

Being "Papa" to Grayson was one of his favorite jobs. She could get a smile out of him faster than just about anyone, and he loved every minute he spent with her.

Jim is survived by his wife, Chu; his children, Angie and Russell; and his granddaughter, Grayson.
