Jason S. Swink, 25, from Orange Park, Florida passed away suddenly on Monday, February 20, 2023. He was born on October, 24, 1997 in Gainesville, Florida. Son of Leslie and Mark Swink, brother of Allison C. Cowell (Swink) and George M. Swink. Jason was disabled with autism and graduated from Ridgeview High School ESE program in May 2017.
Jason was funny, smart, silly and mischievous. He loved outer space, chicken nuggets, French fries, the beach, playing cards, going out to dinner, chocolate (mini M&Ms), and spending time with his family. He came a long way in his life and used typing to communicate and even voted in his first election.
Jason was predeceased by his grandfather, medical pioneer, Dr. Albert Sjoerdsma, M.D., Ph.D.; grandmother, Gladys King Swink and grandfather, Paul Edgar Swink.
Jason is survived by his loving immediate and extended family including Mom, Leslie Swink; Dad, Mark Swink; Brother, George Swink and Sister, Allison Cowell (Swink); Uncle Larry Swink and Aunt Andrea Hawk; Uncle, Paul Swink and Aunt Donna Swink; Uncle, Jerry Swink and Aunt, Karen Swink; Grandmother, Dr. Fern M. Sjoerdsma, M.D.; Aunt, Ann Sjoerdsma; Aunt, Britt Sjoerdsma and Uncle, Albert Sjoerdsma Jr.; nieces, Ava Swink, Alaina Cowell, Abigail Cowell and nephews, Anthony Swink and Andrew Swink. He will be sorely missed.
Family and friends will be received for a viewing on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073, followed by a funeral service on Thursday, March 2 from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon, also at the funeral home. A reception is to follow at Grace Episcopal Church in Benedict Hall, 230 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. to celebrate his life. Interment will be at Jacksonville Memory Gardens where his parents will someday rest by his side.
