Jean “Queen” Holliday, 68, died peacefully at her home on April 13, 2020 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born on June 21, 1951 in Portsmouth, VA to Jimmy and Annie Thomas.
She was educated in the Portsmouth, VA school system. She graduated from I.C. Norcom High School in 1969, later employed by Ford Motor Company and Vistacon from which she retired.
Jean cherished being a mother and dedicated her life to her children’s well-being. Her children remember her as a kind, encouraging, patient and dedicated mother who stood by their side through thick and thin. She was a wonderful cook and baker who loved to prepare her family and friends their favorite dishes and desserts. She was known to share her beautiful smile, compliments and words of encouragement with anyone in need.
She enjoyed shopping and outings with family and friends. Jean believed in Christian fellowship which led her to become an elder at her church home, Daily Growth Outreach Ministries, under the leadership of Pastors Jack and Annette Harmon. Her lovely demeanor, smile and laugh will be missed by all that knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Annie Thomas; husband, Ronald E. Holliday and beloved pet, Buffy.
Jean is survived by her loving sons, Ronald Holliday, II, Ryan Holliday, Royce Holliday; daughter, Monica (Wayne) Holliday; grandson, Ian Robinson; cousin, Lauryn Holliday and adoring pet, Teddy.
