Jeffery Brian Jones

Jeffery Brian Jones passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020.

Pastor Jeffery Brian Jones was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, where he attended local schools. He is a graduate of Paxon Senior High School where he was a member of the class of 1977. He worked for the City of Jacksonville and Ortega Baptist Church. Jeff was an entrepreneur who owned a local janitorial service for years.

He is the son of Leonard David Jones (deceased) and Jeanette McCray Jones. In his transition, he leaves his wife of thirty-seven years, Cassandra Hall Jones. His sons are Damien Rashad Hall (Cherleta), and their children Chylah Ford and Chaliah Hall; Bryan Levar Jones (Dellery) and their children, Kaori Davis, Meah Jones, and Cassie Jones.  His daughters are Quiana Jones Renthorpe (Jason) and their children, Jayvon and Jayden; Jaleesa Jones Ware (Andre) and their children Elijah Ware and Anessa Ware, and Jasmine Shané Renita Ann Jones. He also leaves his brothers: David Jones (Pearline), Kenneth Jones (Lorraine), Ronnie Jones (Sharon), and his sister, Valerie Jones.

Included in Jeff’s large family are his mother-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Hall; sisters-in-law, Rosalyn Amaro (Kenneth) and Cynthia Hayes. His sisters in Christ, Priscilla Williams, Lynn Murray, and Ramona Alexander, and his god-sister, Marva Alexander. His uncle is Otis McCray (Mercedes) and his loving aunts are Irma Delores Cross, Annette Emory, Laverne Paschal (James), and Priscilla Coleman (Michael).

His nieces and nephews include Shanika Hayes, Deanea Hayes, Shanlencia Hayes (William) Robinson, Felicia Rena Amaro Hagan (Jerard), Meagan Amaro, Courtney Amaro, Margaret Brianna Amaro, Kenyatta Jones (Tonya), Rasheeda Jones, and Aisha Williams (Chaz), David Jones, Jr., Davidaa Jones and Diacorri Jones. Among his first cousins are Otis McCray (LaFrenchie) and Janar Harbour. He leaves his good friends, Joe and Ann Moseley, Curtis and Cassandra Stafford, Carnell and Cynthia Newberry, Tony and Sandra Griffin, and Darryl Jackson, as well as a host of other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue Orange Park, FL 32073, the funeral service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2020  at 11:00 a.m., Trumpet In Zion Fellowship,  6007 Seaboard Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32244.
