Jerald “Jerry” E. Blum, 73. Passed away unexpectedly on November 28, 2024.
Jerry had many accomplishments in life from joining the railroad at 16 years old in Cleveland, OH as an apprentice and working his way up to a Machinist. He became a Union Representative then transferred to Corbin, KY and began working air brakes and inspecting accidents. In 1995, he moved to Jacksonville, FL to become an Assistant Superintendent of Air Brakes Mechanical Operations until early retirement due to health.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Cohen-Blum, father, Seymour Blum, brother Michael and sister, Sharon Blum-Krill.
Jerry leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Sherlayn Tate-Blum; four children: daughter, Stacy Blum-Melson and sons, David (Catherine), Steven, and Mark Blum; three grandchildren: Gabe, Luke and Allison, who he loved very much.
