Jimmie Massey was born on October 18, 1942 in Fort Mill, South Carolina, to the union of Frank and Carrie Massey. Jimmie received his formal education in the Mecklenburg County School District. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed in countries including the Philippines, Germany, Guam and the Netherlands.
He was an avid traveler who enjoyed sharing his life experiences with his beloved children and grandchildren. In his downtime, he enjoyed listening to jazz music, playing card games, cooking and talking politics. Jimmie was a great father and grandfather who devoted his life to supporting and taking care of his family.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Carrie Massey, and older brother, James Nash (Alma).
Jimmie leaves behind four children to cherish his memory, son, Wendell Massey; daughters, Alaine Black (Sean), Joanna Massey and Crystal Massey; beloved grandchildren, Ellesse (Valorie), Brianna, Ramon, Deryk (Anyah), Ricardo, Arianna and Analisa; and great grandchild, Lai’ Nani; as well as a host of relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024, 2:00 p.m., at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073.
