John Joseph Abrams, 81, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020 in Orange Park, FL. He was born on July 30, 1938 in Amsterdam, NY to the late Jack and Emila Abrams.

John earned his B.A. at the University of New York, Albany and his M.A. at the University of New York, Fredonia. He worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for 30 years. He enjoyed bass fishing and gardening. John courageously battled with Parkinson’s Disease for 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; uncles, Albert Persico and Joseph Rocca and aunts, Lucy Persico and Ida Rocca.

John is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Catharine “Cathy” Lauer Abrams; children, Candice Thomas (Steve) and Aaron Abrams; grandchild, Emma Thomas; sister, Jackie Gann (Michael); special friend, Chet Brown; numerous cousins and friends.
