Joseph Nehemiah Powell passed away on August 17, 2024

Joseph Nehemiah Powell, 34, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, in Marianna, Florida. He was born on February 22, 1990, in Jacksonville, Florida to Anthony Powell and the late Sharon Powell. After the unfortunate passing of his mom, he was raised by his bonus mom Sheri Powell and his father Anthony.

Joseph graduated in 2008 from Fleming Island High School. He loved to spend time with family and friends. He had a giant heart and a jolly spirit that would make anyone smile. He loved to help people, especially the least of these. He also enjoyed animals and tinkling with cars.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Amos & Emma Powell, and his godfather, Willie Bartley.

Joseph is survived by his parents, Anthony and Sheri Powell; sisters, Meaghan Watkins, Chiffon Powell and Synora (Dennis) Eusebio; brothers, Shawn Powell, and William (Amber) McCoy; paternal grandmother, Beulah Powell and maternal grandmother, Nancy Thompson; Godmother, Linda Bartley; godson, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A service will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024 with a viewing from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  and Celebration Of Life from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. all at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233.
