Joseph V. Sciara, 91, passed away on August 26, 2026, in Orange Park, Florida. He was born on November 13, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York, to John Sciara and Adele Mascia.

Joseph lived a full and accomplished life devoted to service, family, business, and helping others. Following his service with the U.S. Navy Seabees, he continued his dedication to veterans as a Veterans Service Officer with the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs, where he assisted veterans, survivors, and dependents in accessing financial, medical, and other benefits.

Joseph later became a corporate trainer with the Red Carpet Corporation of America, developing training programs and traveling throughout the United States to share his knowledge and help businesses strengthen their sales and management practices. He also pursued his entrepreneurial spirit as a business owner, operating a nursery and greenhouse, landscaping and tree-and-shrub-growing businesses, as well as a gourmet food business serving wholesale and retail customers.

He was a graduate of Fairfield University, where he studied business management, and held a number of professional licenses and certifications throughout his career, including his real estate broker's license.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Joseph enjoyed traveling, cars, shooting, and collecting. He was known for his curiosity, independence, strong work ethic, and willingness to share his knowledge and experience with others.

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Euphracia A. Sciara, and his children, Debbie Sciara, Charlie Sciara, J.J. Sciara, Pauline Sciara, Adele Sciara, Agapito Deno, Joey Sciara, and Florencia Dento, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends.

He will be remembered for the life he built, the people he helped, his dedication to service, and the lasting impact he made on his family and those who knew him.

Joseph V. Sciara will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
