Joyce "Penny" Clay

Joyce “Penny” Clay, was born in Sylacauga, Alabama, on April 12, 1948 to Ruby Murphree Payne and Curtis Allen Payne. During her early years she spent time with her grandparents Asa and Nora Murphree on their farm in Columbiana, Alabama.

Penny was a Licensed Practical Nurse and then a Registered Nurse for 32 years. She began her career in Anniston, Alabama and finished by retiring in Jacksonville, Florida. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, sewing and going to the beach. She was a very caring person with a great sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack R. Clay, her parents Ruby and Charles Clark and brother Bruce Clark.

Penny is survived by her children Frank McIntyre and Lisa Holland, her sister Becky Abernathy and brother Jamie Clark, her stepchildren Donna Clay, Rhonda Bryan, Jon Clay and Tommy Clay, several grandchildren and other family members.
