Judith Boitet Obituary

Judith Ann Larrabee Boitet, 66, passed away on March 16, 2020, in the loving arms of her daughter Natalie Melear in San Angelo, Texas. Judy was born the fifth child and long awaited only girl, to Ruth Ann Truex Larrabee and Wayne Fox Larrabee in Bellevue, Nebraska. Judy was and will always be the adored little sister to four older brothers, Wayne, Rick, Greg and Scott. She graduated from Ralston High School in 1971 and from the Nebraska Methodist School of Nursing in 1975. She began her career as an RN at the Children’s Memorial Hospital in Omaha and later joined the U.S. Navy as a nurse based in Jacksonville, Florida. In Jacksonville, she met her husband-to-be, Dayn Boitet, a Navy dentist. They were married on January 6, 1979, made Orange Park their permanent home and raised four children together.

Judy will always be remembered for her passion for life and she lived it fully. She was a focused and compassionate nurse, a respected manager of the dental practice and a loving, devoted mother of four. When Judy wasn’t busy with family and work, she served the community in many ways from serving as President of her local PEO Chapter to supporting the church. She loved to sew while jamming out to Christian music. Judy loved her girlfriends from Dolphin Street to Eagle Bay and finally the BOOPS. They solved all the problems of the world with Jesus, wine, laughter and fellowship. She loved rodeos, sunsets and music of all kinds. Oh - and to relax she did triathlons!  And, she managed to find time to attain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNF. Judy was the communication hub for the entire family, until the end. Even though everyone lived far away from each other, Judy kept her siblings connected and in the “know” of family events, special dates and any big news.

When Judy was diagnosed with ALS, she was brave and hopeful and still humorous. She was never alone in her fight - the unwavering love and devotion from daughter, Natalie, and son-in-law, David, were nothing short of heroic. As a person of faith, she never faltered from her knowledge that she was a child of God and would soon be at peace in His hands. She was and is an inspiration for us all.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne; her mother, Ruth; and her brothers, Gregory and Scott.

Judy is survived by her husband, Dayn; her son Kyle; her daughter Lauren; her daughter Natalie Melear and son-in-law David Melear and their children, Kasey, 16, Sophia,10, Caden Fox, 9, Violet, 7, and Jude Bastion (her namesake), 8 months; Judy’s son Jarrod and his wife Hannah and their children, Ian, 9, Colton, 3, Benjamin, 1, and Gabriella (due January 2022); and countless nieces, nephews, family members and friends. She is also survived by her two devoted big brothers, Wayne and Rick, who will miss her every day.  The void she left is irreplaceable, but the love, grace, humor and faith she so willingly gave and shared will remain with us forever.
