Kenneth Donell Washington, Sr.

Kenneth Donell Washington, Sr. was born on April 6, 1965 in Lake Charles, LA, to Georgia Washington Montgomery and the late Wilfred Guillory. His earthly life ended on November 26, 2020, for an eternal life with God. 

Kenny graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1983 and retired from the United States Navy in 2003, after serving 20 years as a Culinary Specialist. 

Kenny loved serving his Country and met many lifelong friends while serving in the military.

Kenny worked at Coca Cola for 14 years until his untimely illness. 

Kenny met and married the love of his life and soul-mate, Stephanie Stinson

Washington in 1981 and they have been inseparable ever since. 

Kenny accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. Because of his military affiliation, Kenny continuously matriculated at several ministries until his retirement, when he joined Hopewell Baptist Church, in Jacksonville, FL.                    

Kenny never met a stranger and no matter who he encountered, they would eventually become family. He’s made many friends in his lifetime and by the support shown to Stephanie, Kenny, Jr. and Keilin, you can tell those friends had love for him and his family as well. He always had a smile on his face. He could make a joke out of the blue that would break the ice in any situation and always had a nickname for someone. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys football fan, enjoyed friends and family get togethers and he especially loved spending time with his family and new grandson.

Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Wilfred Guillory; his brother, John Guillory and mother-in-law, Evon Stinson.

Kenny leaves to cherish his fond memories, his loving wife of 31 years, Stephanie Washington; sons, Kenneth Washington, Jr. (Sarah) and Keilin Washington; his most precious gift, grandson, Kenneth Washington, III; mother, Georgia Montgomery, Shreveport, LA; father-in-law, Clervie Stinson Jr., Shreveport, LA; sister-in-law, Lorene Grimes (David), Sugarland, TX; brother-in-law, Clervie Stinson, III, (Debra), New Orleans, LA; sisters, Belinda Jackson (Jack), Shreveport, LA, Beverly LeDay, Lake Charles, LA, Carla Simon, Dallas, TX and Angela Simon, Lake Charles, LA; brothers, Carlos Washington, Hampton, VA, Michael Gerome Simon (Madeline), Dallas, TX, Derrick Montgomery, Shreveport, LA and Reginald Montgomery, Shreveport, LA; great nieces, Nove’ Stinson and Savannah Grimes, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family members, great close friends and shipmates throughout the country.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 1:00p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church, 1351 Roberts Road, Saint Johns, FL 32259. Military Honors willl be presented.
